GPU Buyer’s Guide 2026
RTX 60 vs 70 Series: Which GPU Generation Is Worth Buying?
Nvidia’s naming is confusing — a 5060 sounds like an upgrade to a 3060, but they’re not all equal jumps. We break down every generation across the 60, 60 Ti, and 70 classes with real FPS numbers and AMD equivalents, so you know exactly what you’re getting.
Section 1
The 60 Class — RTX 3060 vs 4060 vs 5060
The mainstream tier. Best value for 1080p gaming, though each generation trades differently on VRAM vs speed.

Buy RTX 3060 if…
You play VRAM-heavy AAA titles, want the cheapest working 1080p card, or are getting a used build. The 12GB buffer is genuinely useful in 2026.
Buy RTX 4060 if…
You need a new card at low power draw. DLSS 3 Frame Generation helps in supported games. Best for small form factor builds due to 115W TDP.
Buy RTX 5060 if…
You’re buying new in 2026 and want the best 1080p/1440p performance. Fastest of the three, though the 8GB VRAM is still a concern for heavy modding or future titles.
Section 2
The 60 Ti Class — RTX 3060 Ti vs 4060 Ti vs 5060 Ti
The 3060 Ti was so good that the 4060 Ti barely beat it. The 5060 Ti finally makes the jump worthwhile.
| Metric | RTX 3060 Ti | RTX 4060 Ti | RTX 5060 Ti | AMD equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VRAM | 8 GB GDDR6 | 8 / 16 GB | 8 / 16 GB GDDR7 | — |

RTX 3060 Ti — still relevant
One of the best value GPUs ever made. If you find one used at a fair price, it still dominates 1080p and handles 1440p well. Nothing about it is outdated for typical gaming.
RTX 4060 Ti — avoid
Only 8% faster than a 3060 Ti at launch. One of the most disappointing GPU releases in recent memory. Only buy if it’s heavily discounted below $200 used.
RTX 5060 Ti — best of the three
First 60 Ti worth upgrading to in years. ~30% faster than the 3060 Ti, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Gen, and available in 16GB for future-proofing. The upgrade to get in 2026.
Section 3
The 70 Class — RTX 3070 vs 4070 vs 5070
The high-performance tier. Best for 1440p and capable 4K. Big generational gains here — especially 3070 to 4070.
| Metric | RTX 3070 | RTX 4070 | RTX 5070 | AMD equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VRAM | 8 GB GDDR6 | 12 GB GDDR6 | 12 GB GDDR7 | — |

RTX 3070 — great used buy
Still excellent at 1440p. If you find one in a used build at a good price in Singapore, it’s one of the best value propositions out there. Handles most games well into 2026.
RTX 4070 — sweet spot
Best all-round 70-class card right now. 30% faster than 3070, 12GB VRAM, lower power than 3070. Great for 1440p 144Hz and capable 4K. Best new-to-used price drop candidate.
RTX 5070 — for power users
Only 10–15% faster than the 4070 in rasterization. Only worth it if you need DLSS 4 Multi Frame Gen or are coming from a 3070 or older and want to skip a generation.
