🌡️ Liquid Metal vs Standard Thermal Paste
Standard thermal paste (even premium Kryonaut) achieves around 12–17 W/m·K. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut reaches 73 W/m·K — roughly 4–6× more effective. The result: lower peak temps, less throttling, and sustained performance under load.
🎮 Which Laptops Benefit Most?
Liquid metal delivers the greatest gains on high-TDP gaming and workstation laptops that regularly push thermal limits under sustained load:
✓ Best Candidates
- ASUS ROG Strix, Zephyrus, Scar series
- MSI GT, GE, GP, GS flagship gaming models
- Razer Blade 14, 15, 16, 18 (slim, thermally limited)
- Dell Alienware m15, m17, x15, x17
- Acer Predator Helios 300, 500, 16, 18
- Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, 7, Slim 5i, 7i
- Workstation laptops with sustained rendering workloads
⋅ Not Suitable For
- Laptops with aluminium heatsinks (we use Kryonaut Extreme instead)
- Laptops still under manufacturer warranty
- Low-TDP ultrabooks that don’t throttle under load
- Apple Silicon MacBooks (different thermal architecture)
Not sure if your model qualifies? We check heatsink compatibility during free diagnosis — no cost to find out.
How We Do It
Why Choose Affordable Laptop Services?
Frequently Asked Questions
How much will liquid metal lower my laptop’s temperature?
Most gaming laptops see a 10–20°C reduction in peak CPU temperatures under sustained load. Slim gaming laptops like the Razer Blade 15 or ASUS Zephyrus G14 often see the largest gains as the thermal interface is the main bottleneck in their cooling stack.
Is liquid metal safe for my laptop long-term?
Yes — when applied to a compatible (copper or nickel) heatsink, liquid metal is stable long-term and does not dry out like standard thermal paste. Many enthusiasts treat it as a permanent solution. We have laptops running without issue 3+ years after service.
My laptop has an aluminium heatsink — can I still get lower temps?
Yes. We’ll apply Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme instead — still delivering significant improvements over dried or degraded standard paste. We advise on the best option during free diagnosis.
Why not apply liquid metal myself?
Liquid metal is electrically conductive. A single drop outside the CPU die area will permanently short your motherboard. Gaming laptop motherboards cost $400–$800+ to replace — far more than our service. Already bought liquid metal? Bring it in and we’ll apply it at a reduced fee.
Will liquid metal void my laptop’s warranty?
Opening your laptop for any repair typically voids the manufacturer’s warranty. If still under warranty, use the manufacturer claim first. If expired, liquid metal is an excellent long-term performance solution.
How long does the service take?
Most applications completed same-day in 1–2.5 hours. Complex models (some Alienware and MSI) may take longer — we give an accurate time estimate during diagnosis.
How much does liquid metal application cost in Singapore?
From $120 for CPU only, $180 for CPU + GPU, and $220 with thermal pad replacement. Call 9750 4333 for an exact quote based on your model.
