Black Myth: Wukong
One of the heaviest games ever released. Black Myth: Wukong is built around upscaling — even an RTX 4060 leans on DLSS at 1080p, and full ray tracing is reserved for flagship GPUs.
Black Myth: Wukong is Game Science’s Unreal Engine 5 action RPG based on Journey to the West — hugely popular in Singapore and across Asia. It uses Nanite geometry and Lumen lighting at full tilt, and its performance targets assume upscaling is switched on. That reshapes buying advice: DLSS-capable NVIDIA RTX cards punch well above their raster class here, and VRAM matters — 8 GB is the practical floor.
Genre: Action RPG | Developer: Game Science | Engine: Unreal Engine 5
- CPU: 6-core i5/Ryzen 5 or better — UE5 asset streaming needs it.
- RAM: 16 GB minimum, 32 GB for comfort.
- GPU: RTX 3060/4060 for 1080p60 high with DLSS; RTX 4070 Super+ for 1440p; RTX 4080-class for full ray tracing.
- Storage: NVMe SSD strongly recommended — 130+ GB install with heavy streaming.
Is DLSS cheating or lowering quality?
Modern DLSS at Quality setting is visually near-native and the developers tuned Wukong around it. Playing this game without upscaling on mid-range hardware simply isn’t the intended experience.
Can older GTX cards run Wukong?
A GTX 1060 meets the bare minimum at low settings with FSR, around 30–40 FPS. It’s playable but rough — Wukong is one of the strongest arguments for upgrading a GTX-era card to a used RTX 30/40 series.
Tested used RTX 30 & 40 series cards in stock — the full guide maps each card to Wukong settings and FPS.
