Microsoldering is the practice of repairing circuit boards at the component level — removing and replacing individual capacitors, resistors, MOSFETs, ICs, and other tiny components using a microscope, fine-tipped soldering iron, hot air rework station, and precision tools.
The components on a modern laptop motherboard are extremely small — many are 0201 or 0402 size (less than 1mm across). Microsoldering requires specialist equipment, significant training, and steady hands. Not all repair shops offer it — it’s what separates component-level repair from basic board swaps.
