Fan RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) is the speed at which a laptop fan is spinning. Laptop fans are variable-speed — they spin faster when the system is hot and slow down or stop when temperatures are low. The laptop’s firmware (BIOS) controls fan speed based on thermal sensor readings.
RPM is a key diagnostic metric.
