⚡ Optimum spec (our prediction): 6-core i5/Ryzen 5 + used RTX 3060 12GB, 16 GB RAM (32 GB ideal), NVMe SSD — expected 1080p medium-high at around 60 FPS with DLSS Quality. The RTX 2060 should still get you in the door at 1080p low. Complete tested used build ≈ $750–$950 in Singapore.
Grand Theft Auto VI lands on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. PC players have to wait: Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version or published system requirements yet, and industry reports point to a PC release sometime in 2027. Rockstar has always followed this pattern — GTA V reached PC about a year and a half after its console debut.
So everything below is a prediction, not a benchmark. We’ve based it on the console hardware GTA 6 is built for (roughly RTX 2070 Super-class graphics), how Red Dead Redemption 2 scaled on PC, and how today’s heaviest open-world games behave on each card. We’ll update this page the day Rockstar publishes official specs.
The GPU ladder: RTX 2060 to RTX 5090
All figures assume a decent 6-core CPU, 16 GB+ RAM and an SSD. “Expected FPS” is our estimate, with DLSS upscaling on.
| GPU (VRAM) | AMD near-equivalent | Expected settings | Expected FPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTX 2060 (6 GB) | RX 5600 XT | 1080p Low, DLSS Balanced/Performance | 30–45 |
| RTX 2060 Super / 2070 (8 GB) | RX 5700 / 5700 XT | 1080p Low–Medium, DLSS Balanced | 40–50 |
| RTX 2070 Super / 2080 (8 GB) | RX 6600 XT / 6650 XT | 1080p Medium, DLSS Quality | 45–55 |
| Optimum: RTX 3060 (12 GB) | RX 6700 XT | 1080p Medium–High, DLSS Quality | 50–60 |
| RTX 4060 / 5060 (8 GB) | RX 7600 / 9060 XT 8GB | 1080p High (textures Medium), DLSS + Frame Gen | 60–90 with FG |
| RTX 2080 Super / 2080 Ti / 3060 Ti | RX 6750 XT | 1080p High, DLSS Quality | 55–65 |
| RTX 3070 / 3070 Ti / 4060 Ti (8–16 GB) | RX 6800 / 7700 XT | 1080p High–Ultra, or 1440p Medium with DLSS | 60–70 |
| RTX 5060 Ti 16GB / 3080 / 4070 | RX 6800 XT / 7800 XT | 1440p High, DLSS Quality, light RT | 60+ |
| RTX 4070 Super / 5070 / 3080 Ti / 3090 | RX 7900 GRE / 9070 | 1440p High–Ultra + RT Medium, DLSS | 60–80 |
| RTX 4070 Ti Super / 5070 Ti / 4080 (16 GB) | RX 7900 XT / 9070 XT | 1440p Ultra + RT, or 4K High with DLSS Performance | 60–90 |
| RTX 4090 / 5080 / 5090 | RX 7900 XTX | 4K Ultra + full RT, DLSS + Frame Gen | 60–120 |
Cards below the RTX 2060 — GTX 1660, GTX 1070, RTX 3050 — may still meet Rockstar’s eventual minimum, but expect 1080p lowest settings with heavy upscaling. If you’re on one of those, start saving now.
Why we think the RTX 2060 is the realistic floor
- Consoles set the baseline. PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics sit around RTX 2070 Super level, and GTA 6 is widely expected to target 30 FPS on console. A PC port normally lets weaker cards match that with lower settings and upscaling — but not by an enormous margin.
- VRAM is the real cliff. The 6 GB on the RTX 2060 is its biggest weakness. Vice City’s texture density and draw distance will push memory hard; 8 GB is workable at 1080p, while 12 GB and up is where you stop worrying.
- DLSS keeps RTX 20-series cards alive. Every card on this list supports DLSS upscaling, which typically buys back 30–50% FPS. That’s why an old RTX 2060 should outlast a faster-on-paper GTX card.
- Frame generation favours RTX 40 and 50. Cards like the RTX 4060 and 5060 can add AI-generated frames. It feels best when your base frame rate is already 50+, so treat it as a bonus, not a rescue.
The rest of the system matters too
- CPU: a modern 6-core (Ryzen 5 5600 / Core i5-12400 or newer) at minimum. Crowds, traffic and AI in a dense city lean hard on the processor — no GPU fixes a CPU bottleneck.
- RAM: 16 GB to play, 32 GB for headroom. Most analysts expect 16 GB minimum.
- Storage: plan for a fast NVMe SSD and roughly 150–250 GB free. Red Dead Redemption 2 is already around 150 GB on PC, and GTA 6’s world is bigger.
- OS: Windows 11 is the safe bet — Windows 10 support ended in October 2025.
The value picks for Singapore’s used market
- Already own an RTX 2060 or 2070? Don’t upgrade yet. Wait for Rockstar’s official specs and benchmarks — you’ll likely be able to play at 1080p low–medium on day one. A desktop clean from $50 and fresh thermal paste is the cheapest performance you can buy in the meantime.
- Best value overall — the optimum: used RTX 3060 (12 GB). The 12 GB VRAM is exactly what an open-world game like this wants, at a used price that makes sense. See it against newer cards in the RTX 3060 vs 4060 vs 5060 guide.
- 1440p step-up: used RTX 3080 / 4070. The point where GTA 6 should look properly next-gen on a 1440p monitor.
- Ray-traced 4K is a luxury. RTX 4080-class and above. Gorgeous, but you’re paying flagship prices for the last 20% of visuals — the RTX 3000 vs 4000 vs Radeon comparison breaks down the price gaps.
Our advice: don’t panic-buy before Rockstar publishes the PC specs. GPU prices tend to spike around big launches. If you’re building anyway, an RTX 3060 12GB-class build is a safe bet that also handles Cyberpunk 2077 and Black Myth: Wukong today. Every card in our used graphics card stock is stress-tested before sale.
Notes from the workbench
- Still on a hard drive? Open-world streaming on an HDD means pop-in and stutter in every modern game. We do HDD-to-SSD cloning from $40.
- Power supply check: stepping up from an RTX 2060 to a 3070 or 3080 often needs a stronger PSU. Ask us before you buy the card.
- Gaming laptops: laptop RTX chips run slower than the desktop cards with the same name — knock roughly one row down the table.
FAQ
Is GTA 6 out on PC? Not yet. It launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC date; reports suggest 2027.
Can an RTX 2060 run GTA 6? We expect so, at 1080p low settings with DLSS, around 30–45 FPS. The 6 GB of VRAM is the main limit.
Is 8 GB VRAM enough for GTA 6? Likely fine at 1080p with medium textures. For high textures or 1440p, 12 GB+ is the safer buy.
What GPU for GTA 6 at 1440p? We’d aim for an RTX 3080, RTX 4070 or RTX 5070 class card with DLSS.
Are these official requirements? No — they’re our predictions. We’ll update this post when Rockstar releases the official PC specs.
