THE SPEED GAP
SATA vs NVMe — What’s the Real Difference?
Both are SSDs. Both are dramatically faster than a spinning HDD. But they use completely different pathways to move data, and that gap is real.

REAL-WORLD IMPACT
What Actually Gets Faster (And What Doesn’t)
The marketing numbers are impressive. Here’s what the upgrade actually changes in daily use.
NOTICEABLY FASTER
Large file transfers Moving a 50GB folder or video project: SATA at ~400 MB/s vs NVMe at 3,000+ MB/s. Seconds instead of minutes.NOTICEABLY FASTER
Game load times Modern open-world titles stream assets constantly. DirectStorage-compatible games see dramatic improvements.NOTICEABLY FASTER
Video editing 4K timeline scrubbing, proxy-free editing, and final export all draw heavily on sequential storage speed.NO MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE
Everyday tasks Web browsing, Office apps, email, Zoom calls, basic photo editing. A SATA SSD already eliminates the storage bottleneck for these.💡 Is the SATA → NVMe Upgrade Worth It?

THE PROCESS
How We Do the Upgrade In-Store
Free Compatibility Check
We open the laptop, confirm M.2 slot type, check PCIe lane support, and advise whether NVMe is physically possible. No charge, no obligation.
Exact Quote
Fixed price before any work begins. We recommend the right NVMe drive — Gen 3 for most laptops, Gen 4 where supported.
Data Cloning Included
Your existing SATA SSD is cloned directly to the new NVMe. Windows, apps, files, and settings transfer exactly. No reinstall. See our cloning service page for how this works.
Same-Day Collection
Most SATA → NVMe upgrades done in 1–2 hours. We test boot speed and run a quick benchmark before handing back.
90-Day Warranty
Every SSD upgrade is covered. If anything goes wrong after the upgrade, we fix it at no charge.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade from SATA SSD to NVMe without reinstalling Windows?
Yes — we clone your existing SATA SSD to the new NVMe. Windows, all applications, files, and settings transfer exactly. No reinstall needed.
Does my laptop support NVMe?
Most laptops made after 2016 with an M.2 slot support NVMe, but some M.2 slots are SATA-only. We check your laptop for free before recommending any upgrade — bring it in or WhatsApp us your model.
My laptop has two M.2 slots. Can I keep the SATA SSD and add NVMe?
Yes — if one slot supports NVMe, you can run both simultaneously. NVMe becomes the primary (Windows) drive; SATA becomes secondary storage. We configure this during the upgrade.
How much does a SATA to NVMe upgrade cost in Singapore?
From $100 for 512GB NVMe, $130 for 1TB, $200 for 2TB. All prices include data cloning. Call 9750 4333 for an exact quote.
Is the upgrade reversible?
Yes. We always keep your original SATA SSD. If you change your mind, your old drive can be reinstalled or repurposed as an external drive in a USB enclosure.
